asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give details of the computer systems dealing with immigration at Bootle, Harmondsworth and Croydon in the form in which it will be required under the Data Protection Bill when it becomes law.

Application for registration in respect of personal data held within computer systems used by the Immigration and Nationality Department of the Home Office will be made to the Data Protection Registrar at an appropriate time; the form and detailed content of any such application will be decided in the light of such guidance as may be offered, following his appointment, by the registrar.
