HC Deb 14 May 1984 vol 60 cc44-5W
Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his reply of 26 April, Official Report, column 580, when equal opportunities officers were designated within his Department; by whom such designation was made; and what the grades and the duties of such officers are.

Mr. Younger

One equal opportunities officer was designated within my Department in January 1984 by the principal establishment officer. The officer concerned is a principal whose role in this area is to ensure that present policy is implemented in accordance with national and departmental agreements and to advise managers on policy procedures.
