§ Mr. Churchillasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is currently the average delay between the time that an application for the registration of a new or used vehicle is received at the driver and vehicle licensing centre, Swansea, before a new owner receives the registration documents; and if he has any plans to expedite the process.
§ Mrs. ChalkerAllowing for time in the post, most new registration documents should be received within three weeks. When the exercise to replace the driver and vehicle licensing centre's computers has been fully completed by 1987 this period should be very substantially reduced.
