§ Mr. Jannerasked the Attorney-General, pursuant to his reply of 26 April, Official Report, column 601, by whom his Department's policies and procedures were reviewed before the Commission for Racial Equality's code of practice became operative; and when and to whom additional guidance and instructions were issued.
§ The Attorney-GeneralFollowing guidance issued by the Cabinet Office (MPO) in January 1984, the legal personnel officer and the establishment officer in the Treasury Solicitor's Department and the establishment officer in the Department of the Director of Public Prosecutions reviewed their Departments' policies and procedures. The trade union side was consulted. The Civil Service race relations policy statement was issued to all members of the Director's Department on 29 February 1984 and to all members of the Treasury Solicitor's Department on 26 April 1984. The establishment officer in the Treasury Solicitor's Department had already issued some guidance and instructions to his staff on 6 March 1984.
