HC Deb 14 May 1984 vol 60 c46W
Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether any property in Wales has been accepted by the Government in satisfaction of capital transfer tax.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

Yes. Some 70 hectares of woodland at Ty Canol near Crymych in Dyfed which is within the national park and also a site of special scientific interest has been accepted under these arrangements. The land has been transferred to the Dyfed county council and will be managed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority in consultation with the Nature Conservancy Council. The net cost was £76,307 and this was borne on the Vote of the Department of the Environment and the Department of Education and Science (office of arts and libraries).
