§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for Defence to whom the Vulcan bombers recently disposed of by his Department were sold; what price was received for them; and whether they were still airworthy.
§ Mr. PattieSurplus Vulcan aircraft were sold to spares recoverers and aircraft preservationists. To retain the commercial-in-confidence nature of sales, individual buyers and prices are not disclosed. Prices varied from aircraft to aircraft. In all, the Department sold 42 aircraft for a total of £69,574.
Aircraft were not capable of flight at the time of release to the customer.
