HC Deb 10 May 1984 vol 59 c430W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will publish in the Official Report figures to show the average number of minutes per sitting day spent on the floor of the House on Scottish business for the Sessions 1980–81, 1981–82 and 1982–83.

Mr. Biffen

The figures are as follows: 36 minutes per sitting day for Session 1980–81, 21 minutes per sitting day for Session 1981–82, 13 minutes per sitting day for Session 1982–83. These figures do not include daily Adjournment debates, statements, private notice questions, applications for debates under Standing Order No. 10 and Scottish elements of Consolidated Fund and holiday Adjournment debates, as it is frequently impossible to put such business firmly into the category of Scottish business.
