§ Mr. AncramThe income received from dog licences in Scotland in 1982–83 was £68,665, and the cost of collection was £246,165. 177,833 licences were issued.
The Government are considering a report on the financial aspects of dog licensing by the Committee of Public Accounts. Although the Committee's inquiry did not extend to Scotland, the Government's consideration will include the future of dog licensing in Scotland. The conclusions will be announced as soon as possible.
