§ Mr.Wigleyasked the Secretary of the State for Wales if he will require the Housing Corporation to pay to the Welsh Housing Association Council in 1984–85 that sum of grant-in-aid towards central administrative and training costs that is proportionately in line with such payments to be made by the Housing Corporation to the voluntary housing movement in England and Scotland.
§ Mr.Nicholas EdwardsNo. The position in Wales is not directly comparable with that in England or Scotland. I make a proportionately higher contribution, through grant-in-aid, to Welsh Housing Association Council expenses and I understand that training facilities for Welsh associations are available through the National Federation of Housing Associations and group training schemes. In addition, I have made resources available to the Housing Corporation to finance additional promotional activities in Wales.
