HC Deb 09 May 1984 vol 59 c411W
Mr. Iain Mills

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what recent representations he has received about the effect of pesticides used in the treatment of growing cereals on the surrounding wild life, domestic and farm animals.

Mrs. Fenner

My Department received information late in March about some deaths of Brent geese in Lincolnshire. It is established practice for every reported incident of this kind to be investigated, to determine whether the circumstances warrant any change in the recommendations for safe use of the pesticide concerned. This particular case is to be considered further by the environmental panel of the scientific sub-committee of the Advisory Committee on Pesticides.
