Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what has been the level of grant aid to the Workers Educational Association in Wales in cash terms and real terms, using 1981–82 as the base year, for each year since 1981–82; and what is his estimate for 1984–85.

The grants to the Workers Educational Associations districts in Wales for academic years are as follows:

The grant for the academic year 1984–85 is still under consideration. As the figures given relate to academic years it is not possible to give the grant in cost terms since deflation factors relate to financial years.
