HC Deb 08 May 1984 vol 59 c308W
Sir Brandon Rhys Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what schemes and measures available to assist small firms are currently being publicised by the Government.

Mr. Trippier

We are constantly reviewing the ways in which we present and publicise the large number of schemes on offer to small businesses. We are currently organising two series of seminars for accountants and other professional advisers to small businesses. The aim is to improve the quality of financial and other business advice available to the small firm. It is primarily the range of advisory services on which we are concentrating our present publicity efforts, and local enterprise week in June will, we hope, attract extensive local and national publicity for the wide range of advisory services. and thus encourage the managers of small businesses to make more extensive use of these services.
