§ Mr. Gordon Brownasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many young people in Scotland aged 16 to 19 years applied to local authorities for housing under the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act for each year from 1978 to 1983; how many of these young people, expressed as a figure and as a percentage, were assessed by the authorities as (a) potentially homeless, (b) priority potentially homeless, (c) neither homeless nor potentially homeless and (d) lost contact; and for how many young people in each category (i) permanent accommodation was secured, (ii) short-stay accommodation only was secured and (iii) no accommodation was secured.
