asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will supply details of remuneration and expenses payments made by the Government, during the most recent financial year for which figures are available, to the commissioners serving on the Historic Buildings Council for England.

In 1983–84 the chairman of the Historic Buildings Council for England was paid a salary of £6,412. In the same year expenses paid to all members amounted to £13,069.37p.
