Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much his Department has spent on advertising in national and local newspapers, on television and in other printed journals in each of the past five years; and what is budgeted in the current financial year for such advertising.

All these payments were in respect of either advertising for recruitment and studentships or, in some cases overseas, consular notices. The amount budgeted in the current financial year is £330,100.
