asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he proposes to take to relieve asthma sufferers from the cost of drugs.

Many asthma sufferers will be exempt from prescription charges under the present exemption arrangements. Those not exempt may be able to reduce the cost of their prescriptions by purchasing a prepayment certificate. We have no plans to change these arrangements.
