§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Minister for the Civil Service what recent steps have been taken to increase the numbers of disabled employees, registered and unregistered, within Government Departments.
§ Mr. HayhoeAll Government Departments have been reminded of their obligations to comply with the provisions of the Civil Service policy statement which appears in the Cabinet Office annual publication "Independent". Bi-annual meetings are held with departmental disabled persons officers to discuss problems and to encourage them to do all they can to recruit disabled people in a way that is consistent with the principle of fair and open competition.
