§ Mr. Cabornasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assistance has been provided by Her Majesty's Government to countries affected by cyclone Domoina; and whether Swaziland and Mozambique have been assisted in reconstruction following the devastation caused by this cyclone.
§ Mr. LuceTents, blankets and tinned food were immediately flown to Mozambique, and we have since provided seeds and materials to help repair infrastructure. The total cost of this assistance was £950,000.
245WWe have provided four British highways engineers and supporting equipment to help in reconstructing Swaziland's internal road network, together with three Bailey bridges, at a total cost of some £437,000. We have also told the Swaziland Government that in addition to our normal bilateral aid this financial year, we shall consider separately and sympathetically any requests for further reconstruction aid once needs have been assessed.
