HC Deb 03 May 1984 vol 59 c191W
Q28. Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what special measures relating to the cod dependence of the port of Grimsby he is including in the United Kingdom's new fish management arrangements.

Mr. MacGregor

The move on 1 April from a flat rate weekly quota for North sea cod to a monthly quota has given greater catching flexibility to vessels which are dependent on cod. Active consideration is currently being given to the introduction of other measures such as sectoral quotas for recognised grouping of vessels, including those based at Grimsby.
