§ Mr. Iain Millsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the control, monitoring, administration and security involved in the use of hard drugs in prisons for the withdrawal treatment of drug addicts.
§ Mr. HurdThe treatment of drug dependants in prison department establishments is a matter for the clinical judgment of the responsible medical officer. I believe that staff concerned with the control, monitoring, administration and security of drugs, both controlled and non-controlled, carry out their duties with proper care.
