HC Deb 03 May 1984 vol 59 c192W
30. Mr. Maclean

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what were the United Kingdom self-sufficiency levels for solids-not-fat and butter fat in 1983.

Mr. MacGregor

The estimate for last year was that in butterfat, taking New Zealand imports into account, which we have to as under our special arrangements they come only to this country, we were 103 per cent. self-sufficient—and even without New Zealand we are likely to be pretty nearly self-sufficient this year.
