§ Mr. Marlowasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how it is intended to finance the European Economic Community agricultural settlement for 1984.
§ Mr. JoplingAgricultural support expenditure is financed from the general budget of the European Community in which the main sources of revenue are member states' contributions of VAT, duties and agricultural levies. Since the recent price settlement is expected to reduce expenditure in 1984 below the level which would otherwise have obtained, there is no additional cost to be financed.
