§ 28. Mr. Colvinasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what help his Department is giving to promote the technical and vocational education initiative programme.
§ Mr. TrippierResponsibility for promoting the technical and vocational education initiative rests with the Manpower Services Commission. However, the objectives of the initiative are in line with the education objectives of my Department, and we are collaborating with the Manpower Services Commission and the Department of Education and Science on a programme which will be of help to the technical and vocational education initiative. This joint programme is British school technology, which was launched on 2 April by my right hon. Friend the Member for Mole Valley (Mr. Baker) together with my hon. Friend the Member for Dartford (Mr. Dunn) and the director of the technical and vocational education initiative.
