Whether they will cease supplying military equipment to the Khomeini regime in Iran, and proceed no further in accepting Iranian military personnel for training in the United Kingdom.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces (Lord Trefgarne)Her Majesty's Government have adopted a policy of strict neutrality in the conflict between Iran and Iraq. We do not supply lethal equipment to either side. All applications for export licences are rigorously scrutinised to ensure that lethal equipment is not supplied to Iran. No Iranian personnel are currently receiving military training from the Ministry of Defence, and any future requests for such training would be considered in the context of our policy of neutrality.
