When they expect to make a statement on the Green Paper, The Taxation of Husband and Wife, published in December 1980.

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (Lord Cockfield)

The large number of responses to the Green Paper are still under consideration. No fundamental reforms will be introduced without giving Parliament and the public an opportunity to assess their detailed implications.
