HC Deb 30 March 1984 vol 57 c340W
Mr. J. Enoch Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the purpose on 20 March of his domiciliary visit to, and protracted conference with, the right hon. Harry West, who ceased to be leader of the Ulster Unionist party in July 1979 and to hold office in it in March 1984.

Mr. Prior

During the course of a visit to Fermanagh, I took up a long-standing invitation to lunch with the right hon. Harry West, whom I have known for a number of years. I will continue to meet prominent members of the Northern Ireland community, whether or not they are office holders in any political party, and much welcome their kindness and hospitality.
