HC Deb 30 March 1984 vol 57 c305W
Mr. Moate

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects the Boundary Commission to commence and to complete the next review of parliamentary constituency boundaries.

Mr. Mellor

The Parliamentary Boundary Commission for England is required to review the parliamentary constituencies in its area and submit a report not less than 10 or more than 15 years from the date of submission of its last report. As the commission's third periodical report was submitted on 11 February 1983, it will have to complete its next general review of parliamentary constituencies between 1993 and 1998. This means that the review is unlikely to begin before 1990 at the earliest.
