asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will give a breakdown for the financial allocations to each of the district health authorities within the West Midlands regional authority for 1983–84 and 1984–85, respectively.

1. The 1983–84 figures relate to the position as noted at the meeting of the west midlands regional health authority held on 8 February 1984, and take account of the July 1983 cash limit adjustments.

2. The 1984–85 figures are as approved at the meeting of the west midlands regional health authority held on 14 March 1984.

3. Allocations for joint finance are not included.

4. Capital allocations are not shown as only a small amount is allocated on a district basis (the rest funds the capital programme managed by the RHA).

5. Allocations do not include districts' share of services provided directly by the RHA (for example salaries of senior medical staff).

6. The figures do not include allocations in respect of services managed by any one district health authority covering more than one district.

7. The figures are not at constant prices.
