asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many complaints of interference to television receivers there have been over the period November 1982 to December 1983 within Essex; how many of these were investigated by radio interference service officials; and how many were associated with British Telecom transmissions from its radio station at Ongar.

However, in the period 1 November 1982 to 31 December 1983 the radio interference service investigated 4,844 complaints of interference to television reception in the Southend. Colchester, Cambridge and London East telephone areas. There were 36 investigations of complaints of television interference from British Telecom's radio station at Ongar.
