asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he now intends to subject invalidity benefit to tax; and if he will make a statement.

As I said in my reply to the right hon. Member on 26 October 1983, at column 97, we have postponed for the time being our intention to bring invalididy benefit into tax. I have nothing to add to that reply.
