HC Deb 29 March 1984 vol 57 c265W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland if he will provide figures of usage and successes or failures of breath meters in drink-driving cases.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

Statistics recording instances of use and the results of such use of the Camic Breath Analyser (S) throughout Scotland are not kept. At every police station where the device is used, a record of its use is maintained, but statistics are not kept centrally. Lothian and Borders police have compiled figures recording the use of the camic device between 6 May 1983 and 31 December 1983. The results are as undernoted.
