HC Deb 29 March 1984 vol 57 cc264-5W
Mr. Williams

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many investigations there have been into possible clashes of interests of civil servants since May 1979.

Mr. Hayhoe

The rules governing the principles of conduct which apply where there is a possible clash of interests for civil servants are set out in the Civil Service pay and conditions of service code, paragraph 9870—a copy of which is lodged in the Library.

These rules are applied within Departments and information is not held centrally on how many times a possible clash of a civil servant's interests may have been considered.
