HC Deb 29 March 1984 vol 57 cc255-6W
Mr. Stanbrook

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what type and what length of Crown service under the Government of a dependent territory would be regarded by him as justifying an application for registration as a British citizen under section 4(5) and (6) of the British Nationality Act 1981.

Mr. Waddington

I refer my hon. Friend to paragraph 5 of the information leaflet about section 4 of the British Nationality Act 1981 (BN12) which is in the Library of the House.

Mr. Stanbrook

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons have been registered as British citizens under the provisions of section 4(5) and (6) of the British Nationality Act 1981; how many of these qualified for registration by virtue of Crown service under the Government of a dependent territory; and which dependent territories where concerned.

Mr. Waddington

No one has yet been so registered.
