§ Mrs. ChalkerWe are constantly looking at ways of improving the vehicle relicensing system to ensure that motorists are offered as efficient and convenient a service as possible at minimum cost to public funds. To test the demand for facilities in addition to those provided by the Post Office I have recently approved a proposal by the Automobile Association for a trial scheme which will allow motorists to carry out straightforward licence renewals for cars and motor cycles at AA Centres in the south-west. The scheme will start in mid May and will run until the end of March 1985.
