§ Rev. William McCreaasked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the current trend in vacancies and its implications for future employment patterns in Wales.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe seasonally adjusted stock of unfilled vacancies notified to jobcentres in Wales rose throughout most of 1983. In recent months the level has fallen back slightly, but the fact that the stock in February 1984 was about 25 per cent. higher than a year ago is an important indicator though only one of many for future employment prospects. Vacancies notified to jobcentres represent only a part of the vacancies existing in the country as a whole at any one time.
