HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 c128W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many tenanted houses owned by housing associations have been sold to sitting tenants in England; what are the names of the housing associations and their estates; and what number of these houses have been sold with a discount.

Sir George Young

Between April 1979 and December 1983, 5,305 housing association dwellings were sold to sitting tenants in England and a further 23,285 co-ownership sales were completed. Information on the names of the associations and their estates, and on the numbers of discounts is not held by my Department.
