HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 cc110-1W
Mr. Robert Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what is his estimate of the number of heavy lorries now fitted with spray guards as recommended by his Department to the users of heavier lorries.

Mrs. Chalker

I understand that the principal supplier of spray suppressant devices in this country estimates that some 12,000 lorries have so far been fitted. I have recently circulated draft regulations which will in time result in all heavy lorries being fitted with these or other devices meeting the new British Standard AU 200.
