HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 cc100-1W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Prime Minister what is the anticipated growth of the EEC's own resources in the next three years.

The Prime Minister

The Commission produces a triennial estimate of expenditure and resources each year. The latest of these was published with the preliminary draft general budget of the European Communities 1984, which is available in the Library of the House. The latest forecast covers the three years 1984 to 1986. The Commission's forecast is that the Community's own resources with a 1 per cent. VAT limit, will grow by 8 per cent. in 1985 and 8.7 per cent. in 1986. The next triennial estimate is due with the preliminary draft general budget for 1985, which should be available in June this year.
