§ The Attorney-GeneralFigures on the rate of conviction are collected for defendants committed for trial at the Crown court, rather than for cases as such. The following table shows the total number of defendants dealt with at each court during 1981, 1982 and 1983 and the percentage of that total who(a) pleaded guilty to all counts, (b) pleaded not guilty so some or all counts and were convicted and (c) pleaded not guilty to some or all counts and were acquitted.
