HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 c110W
Mr. Andrew Bowden

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what would be the cost of raising the age allowances by 12.5 per cent.

Mr. Moore

[pursuant to his reply, 26 March 1984]: The cost of raising the age allowances and the aged income limit by 12.5 per cent. of their 1983–84 levels would be about £130 million more in a full year than the cost of the corresponding Budget proposals.
