§ Sir George YoungEstimates of sheltered dwellings at 1 April 1983 were provided by local housing authorities in England in their housing investment programme returns. The numbers owned by the authorities and estimates of those owned by housing associations, some of which may have been partly funded by authorities, are as follows:
