§ Lord BelsteadIt would be an offence, under Section 5 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975, to use such a device to take or to destroy salmon or freshwater fish unless it were used with the written permission of the appropriate water authority for a scientific purpose, or for the purpose of protecting, improving or replacing stocks of fish.
