HC Deb 26 March 1984 vol 57 cc71-2W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will study the effect of pesticides running off land into drinking water obtained from open reservoirs and rivers in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

Statutory water undertakings monitor water supplies for pesticides which are likely to be present in measurable concentrations. My Department is collecting available information and would seek medical advice if concentrations exceeded those set in the EC drinking water directive.
