§ Mr. LeeThe United Kingdom does not conduct research into chemical weapons. The Chemical Defence Establishment, Porton Down is responsible for research into the protection of United Kingdom forces against chemical attack. As part of the wide-ranging collaboration on defence matters between the United Kingdom and the United States, CDE maintains close links with its equivalent establishment in the US to share information in the field of protection against chemical attack.
