Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing for each year since 1954 the amount of sugar from beet produced in the United Kingdom, together with the amount of sugar imported from the European Economic Community and the rest of the world and the corresponding figures for exports, all in terms of white sugar equivalent.

(2) United Kingdom trading statistics from and to the EC before 1963 are not readily available.
