Mr. Michie

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what regulations and conditions of service cover service men in the armed services during peace time.

Mr. Lee

The regulations which apply to members of the armed forces include the Terms of Service Regulations, Queen's Regulations and the Service Discipline Act appropriate to each service, Orders in Council, Royal Warrants and Orders concerning eligibility for pay and allowances, and books of regulations dealing with particular subjects. In addition, standing orders and instructions are issued by various authorities.
