HC Deb 23 March 1984 vol 56 c596W
Ms. Harman

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the Department of Education in Northern Ireland has inspected the Irish language school in west Belfast; whether the inspection showed it to be satisfactory; and if he intends to make grant aid available to it.

Mr. Scott

Bunscoil Ghaelach, Shaws Road, Belfast, has been inspected on a number of occasions by the inspectorate of the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. The last general inspection, in April 1982, found that the standard of education was generally satisfactory.

The Department is considering a statutory development proposal to have the school recognised as a grant-aided primary school.
