Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing for each year since 1954 average weekly earnings and average hourly earnings for all hired regular whole time male workers aged 20 years and over as a percentage of adult male earnings of manual workers generally.

For agriculture, earnings are annual averages of regular whole-time male workers 21 years and over until July 1955, and 20 years and over thereafter. For other industries, figures are based on the Department of Employment's October survey of manual workers' earnings and relate to full-time men (until 1979 those 21 years and over and from 1980, those on adult rates) in all industries covered by the survey.
