HC Deb 22 March 1984 vol 56 cc515-6W
Q65. Mr. Latham

asked the Prime Minister what progress is being made in improving security within Northern Ireland; and whether she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

The Government are wholly committed to taking all appropriate measures to combat terrorism in Northern Ireland, and to that end provide the necessary resources for the security forces, in whom it retains the fullest confidence. These efforts will not be relaxed whilst the threat of terrorist violence remains. The level of such violence has declined in recent years and the security forces continue to bring large numbers of offenders to justice.
