HC Deb 21 March 1984 vol 56 cc458-9W
47. Mr. Stanbrook

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what opportunities are provided for the representatives of British dependent territories to meet together under the auspices of the United Kingdom Government in order to discuss common problems.

Mr. Whitney

There are no formal arrangements for such meetings covering all British dependent territories and we have not identified a need for them since the differences between dependencies far outweigh any common problems they may have. Governors of Caribbean dependencies where common problems do exist meet bienially under British Government chairmanship and representatives of all dependencies have ready access to British Ministers to discuss specific problems.
